If you push up on the ceiling with your palm and it does not come off or lift up, then you can install it. If you are worried, please install it under the joist.
Won't it fall forward?
The frame is not vertical, but is designed with an 85 degree incline. This means that it will not tip forward and can be installed safely without having to be strongly supported by the ceiling.
